Prof. Yusuf is a Professor of Science of the Qur’an in the Islamic Studies Unit, Department of Religions, Faculty of Arts, University of Ilorin. He is a researcher and administrator. He obtained a Diploma in Arabic and Islamic Studies at Bayero University Kano in 1979, a BA in Islamic Studies at University of Ilorin in 1982, an MA and a PhD in the same field from the same University in 1985 and 1997 respectively. He also bagged a PGD in Teaching of Arabic for non-native speakers at King Suud University in 1990. He joined the Department of Religions in 1991. He has served as Acting HOD in the Department of Religions, Dean, Post Graduate School and Director, Centre for Affiliated Institutions.
