Dr AbdulGafar Olawale Fahm is a Reader in Islamic Studies in the Department of Religions, University of Ilorin, Nigeria, where he also served as Deputy Director (Academics) at the Centre for Open and Distance Learning. He is currently a Leeds University Centre for African Studies (LUCAS), in collaboration with the Leeds Arts and Humanities Research Institute (LAHRI) Virtual Visiting Fellow, and his academic formation includes a PhD in Islamic Spiritual Culture and Contemporary Society. His research is situated at the intersection of Islamic thought and civilisation, Islamic spiritual culture, philosophy, ethics, and contemporary social questions. Dr Fahm has built a distinguished record of scholarship with strong contributions to Islamic ethics, digital religion, Islamic education, interfaith relations, governance, conflict resolution, and Muslim social thought. His publications include widely cited works on multimedia in teaching and learning, ICT-enabled Almajiri education, Islamic responses to disaster management, artificial intelligence ethics from an Islamic perspective, and the democratisation of Islamic education through digital technology. The Google Scholar profile indicates 1,628 citations, an h-index of 10, and an i10-index of 15, reflecting the reach and impact of his academic work. His scholarship is marked by an interdisciplinary concern for how Islamic intellectual and ethical traditions can illuminate contemporary human, educational, and societal challenges.
